Music and Drama at Northbourne Park Pre-Prep

At Northbourne Park Pre-Prep, we believe that music education is vital for young children's development, fostering creativity and building confidence.

Our comprehensive Music and Drama programs ensure that every child from Squirrels Nursery to Year 2 has the opportunity to explore and develop their talents.

Weekly Class Music Lessons

All children enjoy weekly music lessons that introduce them to a variety of musical concepts and instruments, taught by a specialist music teacher. These lessons are designed to be engaging and fun, helping children develop a love for music from an early age.

A Singing School

Music is an integral part of the school day at Northbourne Park. Children have numerous opportunities to sing in assemblies and in class, making music a regular part of their daily routine. Clubs like Musical Theatre offer children the chance to further develop their singing skills and perform as part of a group.

1:1 Music Lessons

We provide opportunities for one-on-one music lessons with specialist teachers from the Prep School. Children can learn to play any instrument they are interested in!

Pupils have the chance to showcase their musical talents at Informal Concerts. These performances are a great way for children to build confidence and experience the thrill of performing in front of an audience.

Drama

In addition to incorporating drama into day-to-day lessons, we offer group drama lessons as a paid extra during the school day, preparing children for LAMDA exams. 

All pupils have the opportunity to perform in the annual Squirrels & Rabbits and Hedgehogs & Badgers Nativities. These performances are a highlight of the Pre-Prep calendar and provide a wonderful platform for children to showcase their talents.
