Outdoor Adventurous Education
In the Prep School the main ethos of our Outdoor Education is that every child is able to learn, explore and experience the great outdoors. Weekly visits to the Leadership Village will instil a lifelong affinity with nature, learning about the natural environment, how to handle risks and to use their own initiative to solve problems and co-operate with others.
During the outdoor sessions, children will develop a range of skills to create and build objects from the woodland around them. They will use tools, learn the boundaries of behaviour, both physical and social, while growing in confidence, self esteem and motivation.
The use of the woodland setting, grounds and local environment and the natural resources bring learning to life, creating and understanding of balance of nature and the finite resources around us.
Overnight camps in the woods are a favourite of the children, a much anticipated activity in the Summer Term. .jpg)
